TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-The Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) has joined hands with state-owned Bank Mandiri to promote investments in the banking sector. The two institutions agreed to cooperate in creating simplicities for investors.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by BKPM chief Thomas Trikasih and Mandiri president director Kartika Wirjoatmodjo on Tuesday, August 9.
The MoU, a renewal for a previous one signed in 2012, legitimizes BKPM and Mandiri's partnership in co-promoting the services offered by the banking industry.
A number of promotional events held by the two institutions include regional investment forums, discussions between BKPM and Mandiri-trained SMEs, and a communication forum for national businesses empowerment.
Kartika said Mandiri will provide the BKPM with information about projects with investment potentials, especially by foreign investors. The investments are focused on areas rarely touched by investors like East Nusa Tenggara.
