TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-Soekarno-Hatta Airport’s Terminal 3 Ultimate, Cengkareng, Banten, has commenced operation today. Vice President Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, PT Angkasa Pura II, M. Putra Pariadi said the cutting edge systems and equipment in Soekarno-Hatta Airport’s Terminal 3 are operating well during the operation of the new terminal. “100 percent; after all, everything has been well-prepared,” he told Tempo, Tuesday, August 9, 2016.
The operator had made sure that the system and equipment could run smoothly way before the operation, Putra said. Angkasa Pura II and Garuda Indonesia had previously made some preparations and trials. “Thank God, all is well,” he said.
Putra said, aside from its luxurious and modern design, the biggest terminal in Soekarno-Hatta is equipped with a state-of-the-art system and supporting facilities, such as an automated baggage-handling system, which can make the baggage-handling process faster and more effective.
Terminal 3 will also be equipped with infrared surveillance cameras for maximum security in the Airport, which could detect objects in extreme weather and in a dark environment. “It can detect an object in a very dark [environment]. It can also operate in extreme weather, be it dark, rainy, and windy,” Putra said.
Another advantage of the CCTV technology, according to Putra, is that it can cover all area of Terminal 3, both inside the terminal and on the apron. The camera can cover an object located at over 500 meters distance and able to rotate 360 degrees with one-month recording capacity. “The infrared [enables the camera] to detect the furthest objects and even in dark [environment],” Putra said.
Soekarno-Hatta Airport is currently supported by 1,923 CCTV cameras installed on every corner. “We have three types, namely fixed, vintage, analytics, in the terminal to analyze suspicious persons,” Putra said. The Apron Movement Control (AMC) has also commenced operation, according to Putra.
