TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim Saifuddin has led the departure of the Indonesian hajj pilgrim first embarkation of Jakarta-Pondok Gede to the Holy Land on Tuesday, August 9, 2016.
After staying 24 hours at Pondok Gede Hajj Dorm, East Jakarta, hajj pilgrims of Jakarta-Pondok Gede embarkation went to Halim Perdanakusuma Airport to depart to Saudi Arabia at around 8 a.m.
Lukman says there are 4,459 people in 11 groups departed simultaneously to the Holy Land from various regions in Indonesia.
And today, he added, the hajj pilgrims from Medan, Batam, Padang, Jakarta, Bekasi, Solo, Surabaya, Lombok, and Makassar embarkations were departing to the Holy Land.
Lukman has called on the hajj pilgrims to take care of their health in order to stay fit during the pilgrimage.
The weather in the Holy Land and Indonesia are completely different. Therefore, the minister suggested that the hajj pilgrims to adopt a healthy lifestyle, consume healthy food, drink a lot of water.
