TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Bank CIMB Niaga gives a tourist bus to Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama and President Director of city-owned bus operator PT TransJakarta Budi Kaliwono during The Color Run presented by CIMB Niaga held at Parkir Timur Senayan, Jakarta, on Sunday (7/8).
"This is our commitment to boost tourism industry in the city,” said CIMB President Director Niaga Tigor M. Siahaan.
The Germany bus, branded MA, has the capacity of 76 sets, which include 59 seats on the upper desk and 17 seats at the lower deck.
The red-colored bus is meant for to transport passengers who want to visit iconic buildings and landmarks in Jakarta.
Basuki hopes the city will get 40 buses until the end of this year.
"We expect to provide more free buses so people can enjoy Jakarta," Basuki said, adding that to meet the target, he hopes for participation from the private sector to give the buses for free.
"Most importantly, the buses must have an international brand,” he said.
