TEMPO.CO, Cilacap - As many as 386 households in three locations were reportedly displaced after floods hit Kalijeruk village, Cilacap regency, Central Java.
"The floods have receded but there are still 386 households or around 1,000 people who are still taking shelter at the village hall of Kalijeruk village, mosques, and Islamic schools,” said official of the Cilacap Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Tri Komara Sidhy in Cilacap on Friday.
He added that the floods happened after water from Kawunganten overflew after heavy rains hit most parts of Cilacap on Thursday evening.
He also said that the highest floodwater reached 80 centimeters and water inside houses and added that the agency has distributed food and aids to the displaced residents.
