TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - After the finding of formalin-preserved yellow noodle of 1.5 tons at Bulak Market, Klender, East Jakarta, Jakarta authorities will improve the food supply supervision.
Allegedly, many similar products are still distributed from market to market.
Irwandi, Jakarta Head Dept. of Cooperative, Micro Small Middle Enterprise and Trade, said other products to be supervised are pangsit, noodle, and tofu.
Those two food products are prone to formalin.
“We’ll form an integrated team to supervise the food distribution and hold a raid also,” he said, Friday (7/29).
His agency will involve the police to track down the producer. Cooperation will be also provided with local government since the producers are mostly in around Jakarta.
“Their business must be shut down. No compensation for this,” he uttered.
