TEMPO.CO, Bangkalan-Four Students of Madura Trunojoyo University (UTM) in Bangkalan, has won the second champion title in the Imagine Cup international game competition in Seattle, the United States. “This is our second win at the same competition,” said Dean of UTM’s Faculty of Technology Rahmat on Friday, July 29, 2016.
In 2013, four UTM students have achieved the first champion position in Imagine Cup Russia after winning the national competition level with ‘Save The Hamster’ game. They were able to defeat other contestants from 79 countries.
Rahmat said the achievement has encouraged the campus to recruit new potential students to become residents of informatics laboratory as an effort to maintain the Imagine Cup champion tradition, as well as other competitions.
The sorted students will then be trained by their seniors who won the 2013 competition called Solite Studio team. Even though the UTM students could only make to the national competition in 2014 and 2015, the third generations joint in None Developer team with the 'Froggy and Pesticide' game have finally won the second champion in the Imagine Cup 2016 in Seattle, the U.S.
"The prize is totally theirs; they can use it to create other games or anything related to it after they graduate like their seniors did," Rahmat said.
