TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Turkish government expects the support of Indonesia in fighting against an organization they claimed as a terrorist organization, FETO (Fethullah Terrorist Organization). In the website of the Turkish embassy in Jakarta, July 28, 2016, they said in their press release that there are a number of schools in Indonesia, which are linked to the terrorist organization.
“As the Embassy, we have for long been expressing our concerns on the activities of the FETÖ terrorist organization here in Indonesia to top Indonesian officials,” the Turkish Embassy said in their press release.
The Turkish government is now dealing with the necessary action to punish the high number of people who were involved in the country`s recent military coup attempt. They accused U.S.-based cleric Fethullah Gulen, through FETO, to be the mastermind behind the coup attempt. Gulen, who is now residing in the United States, denied his involvement.
The embassy also said that the Indonesian officials informed them that the umbrella organization in Indonesia, i.e. PASAD has been shut down on 1 November 2015.
Below is the list of education facilities which are operating in Indonesia that are claimed to be linked to the FETÖ, as mentioned in the website of www.jakarta.emb.mfa.gov.tr:

They added that they also have got information from the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs that the Ministry has sent an official letter to State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta in Ciputat, South Jakarta and ordered the closure of their Gülen lectern sometime ago.
They also mentioned that after the coup attempt, they claimed to be perpetrated by the FETÖ, a number of countries decided to shut down the schools, affiliated to it. Among these are Jordan, Azerbaijan, Somalia, and Niger. “We appreciate the true solidarity of these countries.”
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had declared a closure of 1,043 schools; 1,229 foundations; 35 medical institutions; 19 communities and 15 universities that he considered related to Fethullah Gulen.
