TEMPO.CO, Cilacap - Assistant Attorney General for General Criminal Conduct Noor Rachmad said the attorney general’s office (AGO) had executed four death row inmates in Panaluan field Nusakambangan at 0:45 am on Friday, July 29, 2016.
The inmates were Freddy Budiman, Humprey Ejike, Michael Titus and Seck Osmane. “We have executed four people for now. The rest will be executed next time,” Noor Rachmad said Friday at Wijaya Pura Port Nusakambangan.
According to Noor Rachmad, the AGO had took into consideration several factors before finally decided to execute four inmates only. The four death row inmates had applied for judicial review, he said. “But all were rejected. They had been found guilty of drug-dealing,” he said.
Earlier, Attorney General Agung M. Prasetyo had confirmed that his office would execute 14 people in the third round of executions. They hailed not only from Indonesia, but also from several countries, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Pakistan, India and China, among others.
Noor Rachmad said that Freddy’s body would be laid out in Surabaya, Humprey in Banyumas, and Titus and Osmane would be returned to Nigeria. Meanwhile, the remaining death row inmates had been in isolation cells at Batu Penitentiary Nusakambangan.
