TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-Jakarta will hold the first international bike race in the city called International Cycling Race Tour de Jakarta 2016 on Saturday, July 30, 2016.
A 175.5 kilometer race will start and finish at the Bank Indonesia building, Jl. MH. Thamrin, Sudirman from 6:30 a.m. until 11.00 Western Indonesian Time.
The Tour de Jakarta event is held by Deputy Assistant of Personal Market Segment Development, Deputy of Indonesia’s Tourism Marketing Development, Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with Jakarta’s Bicycling Association (IPSJ) and strategic communications consultant Inke Maris & Associates (PT VIP).
Twenty national and international teams registered by the Tour de Jakarta race committee are to complete 13 laps at an average speed of 60 kph.
Tour de Jakarta has three race categories, i.e., Single Competition, Group Competition and Intermediate Sprint. For racers, the Tour de Jakarta 2016 is a warm up event for the upcoming and much tougher racetrack of the Tour de Singkarak, which will be held on 6th-14th August 2016.
International (including continental level teams) and national teams taking part in the Tour de Jakarta hail from Australia, Taiwan, Philippines, Laos, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore. Each team consists of 10; 7 racers and 3 officials.
Tour de Jakarta is supported by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and Ikatan Sport Sepeda Indonesia (ISSI) or Indonesian Sport Cycling Association.
