TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Awi Setiyono said that his institution would deploy about 1,500 police personnel for a trial of odd-even license plate policy on July Wednesday, 27, 2016. In addition to the personnel, the Jakarta Police would also assigned supervisory staff for the security taskforce.
Awi revealed that the police personnel would be deployed at Jalan M.H. Thamrin, Jalan Gatot Subroto, Jalan Sudirman, and Jalan HR Rasuna Said.
"In addition to 1,500 traffic corps personnel, we will also deploy staff from the National Police and the Jakarta Police," Awi said on Monday, July 25, 2016. "There will be about 3,000 officers on streets in Tangerang, Bekasi, Depok and North Jakarta."
Awi added that the Jakarta Police had also prepared warning tickets for drivers violating the policy.
"The tickets will be sent to their offices or schools if the violators are student," Awi said.
The warning tickets comprise three sheets, each for the Jakarta Police, violator, and violator's institution.
The policy trial will be in effect starting from July 27, 2016 to August 26, 2016 prior to the implementation of the Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) policy in 2018. The Jakarta administration has planned to officially implement the policy on August 30, 2016 upon a successful trial.
