TEMPO.CO, Mataram - Child psychologist Seto Mulyadi (Seto) has urged the Government to ratify the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) in a bid to protect the children’s future against the dangers of tobacco.

"In accordance with Indonesian children hope, the President is pleased to immediately sign the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC)," Seto said in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara, on Saturday (23/7).

As a country that actively prepares for Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) under the World Health Organization (WHO), Seto sad that Indonesia should have ratified the treaty, but in fact up to now, it has not been done yet.

"From the beginning, Indonesia has actively prepared the FCTC. But why would country in the Asia Pacific have yet to ratify it. What is it? Therefore, all sides need to question this," he added.
