TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia (PT KAI) posted a revenue of Rp459 billion during this year’s Eid holiday.
PT KAI Director Edi Sukmoro said that the revenues rose 14 percent from that in 2015.
"It came from passenger transports alone," he said at in Central Jakarta on Friday.
PT KAI transported 5.48 million passengers in both the homecoming and returning traffic during this year’s Eid holiday, more than in 2015, which saw 5.1 million people transported.
In addition, KAI recorded a rise in motorcycle transport significantly, from 5,436 units last year to 11,629 units.
The number of train travel during this year’s Eid holiday reached 372 trips or 223,462 sets per day, up slightly from a regular day trips with as many as 370 trips and 214,048 seats per day.
