TEMPO.CO, Jayapura - Persipura Jayapura`s center-half Ricardo Salampessy said he is ready to fight for his team’s defence and mark Persib Bandung’s forwards in today’s Torabika Soccer Championship match in Mandala Stadium, Jayapura, Papua.

“I’m ready to play and guard Persipura’s defence,” Ricardo Salampessy said Thursday in Jayapura Municipality, Papua.

Ricardo, who made his name with Persiwa Wamena, claimed he is ready to meet the target of winning the game.

“We are ready to win the home match and to give the best for Jayapura people,” he said.

The former Persebaya Surabaya player admitted that some Persib Bandung Players who used to play for Persipura, such as Robertino Pugliara, David Laly and Zulham Zamrun, would certainly knew his team inside out.

“We are friends and family off the pitch but on it they are our enemy who must be beaten to get three points,” Ricardo said.

Meanwhile, Persib Bandung winger David Laly claimed he is ready to play as a professional against his former team.

“I have to admit that I made my name with Persipura, but as a professional player I have to show my best performance for my team,” he said.

Should he score in today’s match, the dimunitive forward said he would not celebrate the goal out of respect for his former team.

“I may not celebrate for scoring. If I do score I will immediately wait for the game to restart. I have a lot of respect for Persipura but I also have to act professionally for my team,” he said.
