TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Garuda Indonesia Group request Rolls-Royce to immediately discuss the continuation of collaboration program with Garuda Maintenance Facility AeroAsia (GMF). The matter was revealed during Garuda Indonesia Group’s delegation visit, who was led by Garuda Indonesia CEO M. Arif to Rolls-Royce Headquarter in Derby, UK, on Monday, July 11.
Arif says the realization of the cooperation is imperative, considering the development of aviation industry in the Asia-Pacific region is growing significantly. Garuda Indonesia needs to increase its capacity in order to capture opportunities to develop business strategies and network expansion.
The program focused pertains to the acceleration collaboration program for engine part treatment and training for experts at Garuda Indonesia subsidiaries. Arif expects the follow-up of the cooperation can be accelerated and has been implemented in mid 2016.
GMF CEO Juliandra also accompanied Arif to Derby and say the capability development cooperation for repair engine part, specifically for the Trent 700 type used by Garuda A330 aircrafts, is a follow-up agreement between Garuda and Rolls-Royce in order to develop and update Airbus A330 armadas.
Garuda and GMF expects Rolls-Royce to help boost capability development and engine component repair capacity in GMF, both in terms of human resources and its technologies. Garuda and GMF targets completion and to be available before mid 2017.
In the visit, Garuda delegations was welcomed by Head of Rolls-Royce Education and International Training David Ashwort and Rolls-Royce Indonesia President Adrian Short. Ashwort say the collaboration of human resource development program needs to be followed up.
