TEMPO.CO, Vatican City - In commemoration of the Eid al-Fitr, the Holy See of the Vatican issued a letter to congratulate Muslims around the world and to spread a message of peace both to Muslims and Christians.
In the letter, the Vatican stated that the holy month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr is an important religious event for Muslims everywhere, and must be respected by the Christians, which considered to be the closest relatives to Muslims.
“On behalf of the Pontificial Council for Inter-religious Dialogue and Christians around the world, happy Eid al-Fitr, a festivity full of joy,” the letter stated.
The letter also encourages Muslims to strengthen the spiritual bond between Islam and Christianity, two of the world’s largest religion. The Vatican also called on Muslims and Catholics to respect and love each other.
