TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-Some 205 Chinese travelers arrived at Sam Ratulangi Airport Manado, North Sulawesi, with a direct flight from Macau.

“Thank God, we are excited because our two months effort is successful. The 250 Chinese travelers arrived safely here,” North Sulawesi Governor Olly Dondokambey said when welcoming the travelers at Sam Ratulangi Airport.

Olly expects direct visit from a number of cities in China can be done regularly, so that the Indonesian government’s target to increase tourist arrivals can be achieved.

“Two months before tourists had visited Manado, [Chinese] tour guides came to check and see whether or not it's worthy to visit North Sulawesi,” Olly said.

Olly expects support from the district and city government in North Sulawesi to involve and proactive in promoting tourism in the region.

Olly also advised the people of North Sulawesi to build a calm and safe environment, so that travelers would feel comfortable due to the friendliness of the locals and readiness of the government.

Travelers from China came to Manado with Lion Air’s Boeing 373 airplane direct flight from Macau Airport to Sam Ratulangi Airport.

The tourists are scheduled to visit Bunaken and enjoy its natural underwater beauty, historical tour to centrum Church and TITD Ban Hin Kiong, and Lord Jesus Bless Manado statue.
