Transjakarta Remains Operational During Eid al-Fitr

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Transjakarta spokesperson Prasetia Budi said that Transjakarta buses would remain operational on Eid al-Fitr holiday that falls on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 starting from 9 AM Western Indonesia Time.

Prasetia added that the schedule was adjusted to provide Transjakarta employees with opportunities to attend Idul Fitri prayers.

In the evening, Prasetia added, the Transjakarta operation would be adjusted by considering several factors, such as traffic jams that could be caused by public participating in Idul Fitri parades.

"Therefore, busses will serve passengers until 2 AM," Prasetia said in a press release on Tuesday, July 5, 2016.

Prasetia explained that corridors to be passed by parades would be those located near mosques where Idul Fitri prayers would be held.
