TEMPO.CO, Pasuruan-Heavy rain hitting Pasuruan, East Java, since yesterday night has prompted several locations in the district and city of Pasuruan to be flooded on Thursday, June 30, 2016. Rain has also caused rivers to overflow and flood Java's Pantura route along Surabaya-Probolinggo.
Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) East Java Secretary Gangsar Sulistyo said Pantura road from Surabaya to Probolinggo and vice versa is still closed for now. Vehicles are diverted to Purwosari-Pandaan-Porong.
“Most areas are still flooded, including at Pantura road in Kraton. For the time being, the road is closed and diverted to Purwosari,” Gangsar said Thursday, June 30, 2016.
BPBD Pasuruan City recorded at least four subdistricts are hit by the flood, including Gadingrejo, Purworejo, Bugulkidul, and Panggungrejo.
Areas in Pasuruan District includes Kalianyar and Tambakan Village, Bangil Subdistrict, are flooded around 50cm. Plinggisan, Sidogiri, Klampis, Ngempit, Tambakrejo Village, in Kraton Subdistrict, are also hit by a 30-60cm flood.
The overflowing Welang River at Tambakrejo Bridge in Kraton Subdistrict has caused Pantura road to experience 30-50cm flood.
