TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-The Economic Committee of National Industry (KEIN) partners up with state-owned telecommunication company, PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom), in creating a farmer's logistic mobile app called Logistik Tani. The app aims to overcome the uncertainty in commodity datas in Indonesia.
Head of KEIN Food Team Work, Benny Pasaribu, said the app will be operated by Telkom, while the users will be the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). “It is expected that [with this app] the commodity datas can be clearer and more accurate; not just an estimation,” Benny said in a statement on Thursday, June 30, 2016.
Besides data clarity, the app can also record changes in commodities.
“The Logistik Tani’s dashboard will later be installed in KEIN’s office. Therefore, the President can directly see the condition of commodities, beef, and availability of food stocks in regions,” said Benny.
Telkom Digital and Portfolio Strategy Division Director Indra Utoyo says through the Food Sovereignty System, both KEIN and SOEs, Agro, government, and private companies will be able to access the app. In addition to data accuracy, that app can also be connected with the ecosystem, perform and control auto repair without depending on data from BPS.
Indra said this app will help the BPS and the software could be downloaded via gadgets. It can also be accessed by everyone, both stakeholders and farmers.
