TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo is scheduled to preside a limited meeting in the State Palace on Wednesday to discuss the strategic plan in the development of Natuna District economic potential, said Heri Mokhrizal, Head of Public Relations and Protocol, Riau Islands Province.
“Riau Islands Governor Nurdin Basirun and Natuna Regent Hamid Rizal will attend the meeting,” said Heri yesterday in Tanjungpinang, as quoted by antaranews.com.
He said that the limited meeting is the follow up of last week’s meeting held by President Jokowi and several ministers on KRI Imam Bonjol warship in the Natuna waters.
The limited meeting in Jakarta will be attended by a number of ministers and security chiefs.
“The President seems to give serious attention to the economic development in the Natuna Islands,” Heri said.
Aside from economic potential, another pressing issue is the security in Natuna.
“We express our appreciation to the central government, and are hopeful that Natuna can grow,” he said.
