The task force is chaired by Coordinating Economic Minister Darmin Nasution, who will be assisted by three deputy chairmen, namely Coordinating Political, Legal and Security Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung and Vice Presidential Expert Staff Coordinator Sofyan Wanandi.

Darmin said that the task force was aimed to ensure the effectiveness of economic policy packages issued by the government.

"The tasks include disseminating information to business owners, domestic and foreign investors, associations, general public, and regional and central government officials," Darmin explained.

The task force, that was formed based on Coordinating Economic Minster Decision No. 80/2016, has crafted work programs through four work groups. The first work group deals with policy campaign and dissemination headed by Trade Minister Thomas Trikasi Lembong and Investment Coordinating Agency (BKPM) Franky Sibarani.

The second work group handles regulation acceleration and deliberation chaired by presidential chief of staff Teten Masduki and State Secretary Minister Pratikno.

The third work group deals with impact evaluation and analysis chaired by Bank Indonesia senior deputy governor Mirza Adityaswara and senior economist Raden Pardede.

Lastly, the fourth work group handles case settlement led by Justice and Human Rights Ministry Yasona Laoly and specials staff of Coordinating Political, Legal and Security Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa.

All work groups will be assisted by a supporting unit from the Coordinating Economic Ministry led by Lukita Dinarsyah Tuwo  Edy Putra Irawady.

First work group head Thomas Lembong emphasized that the issuance of the economic policy package reflected government’s commitment to economic reform.
