TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The House of Representatives (DPR) has approved the appointment of Comr. Gen. Tito Karnavian as the National Police Chief.
DPR's Deputy Chairman Fadli Zon, who presides the plenary meeting on Tito's appointment, delivers his approval of the report on Tito's fit and proper test from the Legal Commission.
"Based on Commission III report, we have decided to approve Tito Karnavian's appointment as the Chief of National Police," Fadli said.
Before rendering his approval, Fadli was presented with Tito's fit and proper test report from Bambang Soesatyo, Chief of Commission III of the DPR.
Bambang stated that the decision officially ends Gen. Badrodin Haiti’s term as the Chief of National Police. "We would like to extend our appreciation to Gen. Badrodin Haiti," Bambang said.
