TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Police Commissioner Setiyono Awi said at least six police officers became the victims of beatings by supporters of Persija Jakarta football club (known as Jakmania) on Friday (24/6).
"There were 6 victims from the police: 3 were seriously injured, two were in intensive care, and one is still in the ICU," Awi said in Jakarta on Saturday.
Based on police reports, six policemen who became victims were Bripda Ibanio, Aiptu Muhtadi, Supriyadi Brigadier, Brigadier Hanawiah, Brigadri Wawan, and Iptu Sirajudin.
"It's all in the Police Hospital. Brigadier Hanawiah was critical due to head injuries due to blunt force blows," said Awi.
In addition to gang police, supporters of Persija Jakarta team also damaged a car belonging the Jakarta police. The supporters also burned 5 motorcycles, 2 police vehicles, three motorcycles members of the police, and an uninterruptible power supply (UPS).
Until now, Awi explained, the police have arrested 155 supporters Jakmania and 14 of them were arrested in Central Jakarta Resort Police.
