TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Ahead of the Eid homecoming season, 11 bus terminals in the capital hold a `ramp check` (safety check up) for the homecoming transports, Thursday (6/23).
Head UPT of Terminal for Jakarta Dept. of Transportation, Mohammad Faisol, admitted that many of the public transports failed to pass the test. Mostly they failed in the `light` category.
Light category means that the transports have no medical kit box whatsoever, a malfunctioned wiper mechanism, having no safety hammer at all, and so on. However, based on the physical test, the transports indeed passed the test.
“Mostly the public transports we’ve checked out are still worthwhile to become homecoming transports,” he said, Thursday (6/23).
The 11 bus terminals held the ramp check are: Kampung Rambutan, Pulogadung, Kalideres, Tanah Merdeka, Tanjung Priok, Angke, Pasar Minggu, Pinang Ranti, Rawamangun, Grogol, and Rawa Buaya.
Personnel will remain standby at those 11 terminals. Based on temporary data, of 1,200 vehicles 16 percent or 181 vehicles passed the test.
