Jokowi Inspects Bogor-Sukabumi Toll Road

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo inspects Bogor-Sukabumi toll road in Ciawi, Bogor today, June 21, 2016. The President was accompanied by West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan, State-Owned Minister Rini Sumarno, and Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono.

Jokowi said that Bogor-Sukabumi toll road project has been postponed since 1997 and had seen four cornerstone laying.

To avoid another postponement, Jokowi has instructed the completion of the project by 2018. “Anyone who has passed through here [Bogor-Sukabumi] must have been caught in traffic jam,” he said at Gadog Urban Village, Bogor, Tuesday, June 21, 2016.

President Director of PT Trans Jabar Tol Muhammad Sadali added that section I of Bogor-Sukabumi toll road consist of three packages with 15-kilometer long. So far, the land clearing process has been completed. “It’s 94 percent complete,” Saladi said.

Whereas the Bogor-Sukabumi toll road comprises of four sections. Sadali noted that the total investment prepared for the 54-kilometer long toll road is Rp7.7 trillion. He is aiming to complete the toll road construction by 2020. “After its completion, Sukabumi-Jakarta can be travelled in one hour,” he said.

After visiting Bogor-Sukabumi toll road, President Jokowi is scheduled to visit Rumpin. In addition, he will inspect the Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu overpass project.
