TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Industry Ministry continues to develop the program of Self-reliant Industrial Villages (DIM) to develop technological-innovation-based small and medium-scale industries in regions.
The DIM model is carried out by fully exploiting natural resources potential to produce high value-added products that can improve local economy.
“The DIM program will produce new entrepreneurs in biotechnology-based small and medium-scale industries who can process crop yields, plantation, fisheries and animal husbandry,” said the Secretary-General of Industry Ministry Syarif Hidayat in Jakarta, Thursday, June 16, 2016.
Between 2013-2015, the IDM program had been implemented in 11 districts/municipalities, among others, Bone Bolango (Gorontalo Province), Sidrap (South Sulawesi), East Lombok (West Nusa Tenggara), and several districts in East Java, Central Java, West Java and Lampung.
Syarif added that DIM-related developments in 2016 will be carried out in four districts/municipalities, namely Sanggau (West Kalimantan Province), Minahasa (North Sulawesi), Buol (Central Sulawesi) and Blitar (East Java).
