TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-One of the most well-known snacks and street food to Indonesians is kue cubit, a small pancake sold by vendors in traditional markets or near schools. During the fasting month of Ramadan, many people opt for these mini sweets as a meal to break the fast, as well as a way to get nostalgic and reminisce about their childhood.
Kue Cubit Cisangkuy, an outlet in Bandung's Cisangkuy street, is a new favorite in town. Buyers would line up for almost two hours just to have a taste of the sweet, soft and runny fried pancakes that cost Rp10,000 to Rp15,000 per pack of 10.
Nowadays, people can enjoy new varieties of kue cubit. Back then, they were usually plain. The only topping offered was chocolate sprinkles.
Today, we can choose from an endless option of flavors toppings from green tea, Oreo, cheese, Ovamaltine, and many more. Kue Cubit Cisangkuy was one of the pioneers for adding new flavors and toppings since 2014.
