Telkom Teams Up with Huawei to Develop `Smart City Nusantara`

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned telecommunication company, PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk, has joined hands with PT Huawei Tech Investment (Huawei) to develop the so-called ‘Smart City Nusantara’ platform and solution in Indonesia.
“The cooperation is expected to improve services for the enterprise segment and the government, particularly in Smart City Nusantara service that is being developed by Telkom,” said Director for Enterprise & Business Service of Telkom Muhammad Awaluddin in Jakarta yesterday.
According to Awaludin, Telkom solutions for smart city in Telkom Smart City Nusantara consist of service and solution packages tailor-made for regional government’s need.
“The service is a comprehensive, standardized, integrated smart city services and solutions which variedly and reliably deliver smart city solutions according to the unique needs of cities,” he said.
He explained that Telkom Smart City Nusantara is mainly aimed at improving regional government capacity to properly develop and implement smart city concept.
“As a leading digital company in Indonesia, through Smart City Nusantara solution, Telkom is ready to support regional governments in Indonesia to develop smart cities,” he said.
Meanwhile, Director of Board Huawei Steven Shengkai said he is proud to be working with Telkom.
