TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Industry Ministry is pushing for the growth of small and medium scale muslim fashion industry as one of the flagship industry to improve Indonesia’s image at the world stage.
It was said on Tuesday by Director General of Small and Medium Scale Industry of Trade Ministry Euis Saedah representing Trade Ministry in the opening of Flagship Product Expo if Indonesian Muslim Women Entrepreneurs Association (IPMI) in Industry Expo Plaza of Industry Ministry, Jakarta.
“Of 750,000 small and medium scale clothing industry in Indonesia, 30 percent of which are muslim fashion industry,” Euis said.
Therefore, the ministry continues to spur the growth of new small and medium scale muslim fashion enterprises across the country.
The ministry has been providing technical guidance, expert assistance and machinery and equipment grants.
“As such, we expect all women, muslim women in the archipelago, to take the opportunity to start new businesses to take part in the effort to improve the prosperity of their family and their surroundings,” Euis said.
