TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-Persipura Jayapura coach Jafry Sastra has heaped praise on his team following their win over the visiting team Barito Putera in Torabika Soccer Championship (TSC) in Mandala Stadium, Jayapura City, Papua, Monday night, June 13, 2016.

“It’s an incredible match, I appriciate all players that were able to show their ability,” Jafry Sastra told a press conference in Jayapura.

According to him, Boaz TE Solossa & Co. have shown high team spirit. Despite trailing by two goals in the first half, they were able to play according to the instructions given to them in the second half which avoided them from defeat.

“We trailed in the first half due to miscommunication, but after the half-time break I asked the players to be more confident. I told them that all [tactical] materials had already been given [to them] in training, the players must be confident that they could won the match,” he said.

The former Semen Padang coach said that his motivational speech given during the break had lifted the spirit of the Black Pearls, Persipura’s nickname.

“I asked the players to believe that God’s miracle would happen. I asked them to develop their game according to the training they have done, and it showed,” he said.

Separately, Fery Pahabol, Persipura Jayapura’s diminutive striker, who played excellently that night, said that the two goals he scored were for Persipura Jayapura fans, Persipuramania, who had wanted him to score as many goals as possible.

“Thank God, it’s a miracle that we won the match. It’s God’s gift, and we had tried our best to score goals and the victory is for Persipuramania who had been waiting for our goals,” he said.

Fery and Boaz scored two goals a piece in that match, while the other goal was scored by Yustinus Pae in the fourth minute of the first half following an assist from Fery Pahabol.
