TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bantul Culture and Tourism Agency in Yogyakarta Province is set to revitalize and beautify the icon of Parangtritis Beach.
"This year, we’re planning to repair the icon of the beach because some parts are damaged,” said Bantul Culture and Tourism Agency Head Bambang Legowo in Bantul on Sunday.
According to him, the iconic 3D ‘Pantai Parangtritis’ (Parangtritis Beach) sign was built in 2015 and in this landmark, tourists usually would take a selfie.
However, he said that one of the letters of the phrase is damaged due to corrosion so it needs to be repaired to attract tourists.
Bambang added that the regency has budgeted Rp190 million from the regional budget to repair the landmark.
