TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-Two Indonesian mixed-doubles pairs, Riky Widianto/Richi Puspita Dili and Praveen Jordan/Debby Susanto will meet in the quarter-finals of Australian Open on Friday, June 10, 2016, to secure a spot in the semi-finals.

Riky and Richi have progressed to the quarter-finals in the tournament that is held in Sydney after beating Danish mixed pair Kim Astrup and Line Kjaersfeldt 14-21, 23-21, 21-14 in today’s match.

Whereas Praveen and Debby, who have been seeded sixth, subdued Singapore’s pair Yong Kai Terry Hee and Tan Wei Han 21-13, 22-20.

“We always wanted to meet our compatriots. To make Indonesia keep progressing whoever win the match,” Debby said as quoted by the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) Public Relations Division.

“We will see tomorrow, those who are [more] prepared on the court will win,” Richi added.

Their meeting in the quarter-finals has ensured Indonesia a spot in the semi-finals of the tournament with a total prize of 750,000 US dollars.
