TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-Director for Informatics Empowerment Septriana Tangkary said Monday, May 30, 2016, at the launch of #internetBAIK (good internet) initiative that the Communication and Informatics Ministry is targeting to include 153,000 positive contents, that can be accessed by students, into the DNS Whitelist Nusantara.
The DNS Whitelist Nusantara is a program that support the healthy use of the internet that can be accessed by all students, from elementary school until senior high school students.
To date, there are some 90,000 contents, which can be accessed by the general public, that have been included in the whitelist, he said.
The contents have been reviewed and verified by a team to ensure the absence of negative contents in it, according to him. Positive contents are expected to provide useful information for younger generations.
The DNS Whitelist was initiated by Communication Minister Rudiantara in the commemoration of Children’s Day 2015 at Bogor Palace, West Java.
The DNS Whitelist Nusantara adds to the ministry’s effort to provide safe internet access in line with the rapid development of informatics and communication.
Informatics and Communication Ministry also has ‘trust positif’ program that blocked negative contents in the internet. According to Communication Minister Rudiantara, recently, the ministry has blocked 767,000 websites with negative contents.
“Most of them are associated with pornography, indeed, around 755,000,” he said last week.
