TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo expects an increase in investment, particularly from Aichi prefecture, Japan, to Indonesia, specifically in the industry and manufacturing sector.
President Jokowi’s first agenda in Nagoya, Japan, ended by receiving a courtesy visit from Aichi prefecture Governor Hideaki Ohmura in the Orion A Room Hotel Kanko, Nagoya, Japan, on Thursday evening.
President Jokowi began the speech by welcoming the cooperation of education between Prefectural University and Gajah Mada University, Yogyakarta, which had been agreed during the governor of Ohmura’s visit to Indonesia by bringing ecnomic and education delegations on October 18-23 2015.
Jokowi encourages the increase in investment from Aichi prefecture to Indonesia, specially in the industry and manufacture division.
The Governor said the investment from Aichi to Indonesia has doubled over the last five years.
The number of Indonesian workers in the area of Prefectur Aichi is quite significant, nearly 4,000 people, so that the relations between the two society could also be improved.
The Governor also expects Garuda Indonesia to open a direct flight to Nagoya, which Jokowi vow to convey the suggestion to Garuda for a follow up.
