President Jokowi to Raise Issue of Asian Stability in G-7 Summit

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo will raise the issue of stability and welfare in Asia in the G-7 outreach meetings in Japan.

President Jokowi will attend G-7 outreach meetings on Friday at Ise-Shima Japan.

Upon his arrival at Shima Kanko Hotel the Classic, where the G-7 outreach meetings take place, President Jokowi was personally welcomed by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

The first event to be attended by President Jokowi is the first session of G7 outreach meetings where he will talk about stability and welfare in Asia.

After the end of session, President Jokowi will meet with Prime Minister Abe in a short conversation session.

In the meeting, President Jokowi will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, State Secretary Minister Pratikno, National Planning and Development Minister Sofyan Djalil, Financial Service Authority Commissioner Board Chairman Muliaman Hadad and Indonesian Ambassador to Japan Yusron Ihza Mahendra.

After the meeting with Prime Minister Abe, President Jokowi will attend a joint photo session in which he will stand alongside French President Francois Hollande and UK Prime Minister David Cameron.

Thereafter, President Jokowi will attend the second session of G7 outreach meetings.

On the ocassion, National Planning and Development Minister Sofyan Djalil will convey the importance of global partnerships and the enhanced global health coverage in Indonesia.

Jokowi’s last agenda in G7 outreach meeting is a meeting with French President Francois Hollande.

The President will return to Indonesia this evening and is expected to arrive in Jakarta on midnight.
