TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Provincial Government together with PT Memiontec Indonesia will provide water treatment plant (WTP) in West Flood Canal (KBB).
Jakarta Governor Basuki T. Purnama admitted raw water needs in Jakarta is still low.
“Pipe leaking reaches 40 percent. That’s why we will provide our own WTP,” he said, Wednesday (5/25).
Basuki assessed that PT Memiontec Indonesia’s WTP is able to increase clean water needs in Jakarta. The company has its experience in Singapore and other Asia’s countries.
“Sewer water is able to be our drinking water,” he added.
Moreover, Dewi Kwek, PT Memiontec Indonesia Director, explained the technology to be used in Jakarta is different with other countries. It is because rivers in Jakarta still have trash.
“It has no problem at all. It’s the matter of technology we use,” he stated.
