Indonesian Embassy in Madrid Promotes Investment to the Spanish

TEMPO.CO, London-The Indonesian Embassy in Madrid is cooperating with the Coordinating Ministry of Martime Affairs, Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), and PT Wijaya Karya (WIKA) to launch a series of investment promotion seminar in the maritime and tourism infrastructure sector.
The seminar dubbed “Indonesia: Investment Opportunities in Maritime Infrastructure and Tourism” is organized consecutively, starting from Madrid, Vigo, Las Palmas, to Valencia.
According to the statement of Indonesian Embassy in Madrid to Antara in London, Wednesday, May 25, 2016, the launching held in Madrid was opened by Indonesian ambassador for Madrid Yuli Mumpuni Widarso and Expert Staff to the Coordinating Ministry of Maritime Affairs Dr. Marsetio, and attended by 67 CEOs from maritime infrastructure companies.
The moderator, Spain International Chamber of Commerce Director Alfredo Bonet, began the seminar by addressing that in last November, when he became Spain’s business delegation member to Indonesia in the event of opening the Indonesia-Spain Business Forum, he saw the development in Indonesia is very potential, has various sources, stable, and has a helpful investment regulation.
Meanwhile, ambassador Yuli said the event was a follow up of a seminar which was previously held at the Indonesian Embassy in Madrid introducing the potential of Indonesia to the Spanish people with the theme of “Indonesia: Business and Infrastructure Investment Opportunity” organized in Madrid and Barcelona in 2014, as well as Madrid and Bilbao in 2015.
According to her, the series of seminars between 2014 and 2015 have managed to increase Spain’s investment value in Indonesia. In 2014, the value reached $15.7 million with 25 projects and in 2015, the value reached $56.59 million (65 projects) or up by 300 percent.
