TEMPO.CO, Nanjing - China will import goods valuing more than $10 trillion throughout the next five years, chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) said Thursday.
"I think it will bring more opportunities to world manufacturers and traders," said Jiang Zengwei, chairman of the CCPIT, at the China Import Expo, which was opened Thursday in Kunshan City, Eastern China, Jiangsu province.
Jiang also said China will invest more than $600 billion overseas over the next five years and work on several hundred major projects, offering many investment opportunities for foreign enterprises.
A total of 877 companies from 42 countries and regions participated in this year’s expo, which is co-organized by Chinese Commerce Ministry, CCPIT, and the government of Jiangsu province, the Xinhua reported.
