TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Supreme Audit Agency's (BPK) Ethics Council held a trial related to the suspected ethics code violation committed by BPK Chairman Harry Azhar Azis for owning an offshore company as listed in the Panama Papers. The report on the violation was submitted by the Save BPK Coalition (Coalition).
"We were asked to explain the points and arguments for submitting the report," said Roy Salam, Coordinator of the Coalition on Wednesday, May 18, 2016
Roy said that the Ethics Council had requested the Coalition to add more data to strengthen the report. "The Council will also summon the Directorate General of Tax and the KPK's LHKPN [State Official Wealth Report] Division," Roy said.
Roy added that the Coalition had also requested the Ethics Council to be transparent in dealing with the issues, including in holding trials and carrying out decisions.
Back in April 26, 2016, the Coalition filed a report suspected to be committed by Harry Azhar Azis to the BPK's Ethics Council following the Panama Papers. The Panama Papers lists Harry Azhar as the owner of an offshore company called the Sheng Yue International Limited, which was established on February 2010.
