TEMPO.CO, Sidoarjo-Bhayangkara Surabaya United have to share a point with the visiting team, PS TNI, in the Indonesia Soccer Championship 2016 match at Gelora Delta Stadium, Sidoarjo, Sunday evening. PS TNI have successfully held Bhayangkara Surabaya United to a 0-0 draw.

In the first half, both played roughly and alternately launched attacks. The referee showed three yellow cards for two Bhayangkara Surabaya United players, Khair Allah Abdelkbir and Suroso, and PS TNI  defender, Manahati Lestusen.

On the 26th minute, a counter attack sent PS TNI’s Tambun Dibty Naibaho clear only for his shot from outside of the box to be tipped wide by Wahyu Tri Nugroho. Meanwhile, at the end of the second half, Bhayangkara Surabaya United’s striker Rudi Widodo shot wide off the goal guarded by Teguh Amirudin.

PS TNI who played on counters had a glorious opportunity. But the header from PS TNI striker, Tambun Dibty Naibaho, hit the frame of the goal. The score remained goalless until the final whistle.

PS TNI coach Eduard Tjong said he is satisfied with the draw secured by his players. “A point, for me, is satisfying,” he said after the match. Tjong, however, considered his team did not play well because the strategy to dictate the tempo was not executed well.

Bhayangkara Surabaya United coach Ibnu Grahan admitted that his team was unlucky with the result. Despite creating so many chances, the team failed to convert them into goals, he said. “I’m pretty disappointed with the match. It’s a homework for Bhayangkara Surabaya United [to rectify chances conversion issue],” said Ibnu.
