TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Big Bad Wolf Book Sale at Hall 10 of the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) in Tangerang was still packed with visitors on Saturday, May 7, 2016. Mizan Group’s digital marketing staff Ditta Sekar Cempaka said public’s enthusiasm in the event was surprising.
“It’s beyond our expectation. After observing the location, it was really packed,” Ditta told Tempo on Saturday, May 7, 2016.
Mizan is the only publisher selling local books at the event. Although the final recapitulation of the book sales at the event had not been conducted, Ditta predicted that the sales figure could be three times higher than the target.
Ditta claimed that Mizan sold old inventories during the event, so that the publisher would not hesitate to lower the prices in order to make them competitive.
“The event is an opportunity to sell old inventories that are no longer displayed in bookshops. In our opinion, the books are still in good conditions, in terms of the contents and the packages,” she explained, adding that Mizan would participate in the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale for the next three years.
The first Big Bad Wolf Book Sale, the largest book event in Indonesia, is opened for 110 hours non-stop until Monday, May 9, 2016. Earlier, the book event was scheduled to be held until Sunday, May 8, 2016.
