TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Big Bad Wolf book fair successfully attracts thousands of people. The event, which is held at the Indonesia Convention Center (ICE) in Tangerang, also provides the opportunity for those who wanted to donate their books.
"We also accepts charity from visitors wishing to donate their books to children and teachers across Indonesia. The [donated] books will be distributed through the Education Ministry," said Uli Silalahi, Director of Jaya Retail, the company that organizes the fair to Tempo on Thursday, May 5, 2016.
Uli added that Indonesians are interested in reading. However, most people do not have access to books. Uli explained that the book donations are intended to increase public interests in reading good books.
Initially, the Big Bad Wolf book fair was scheduled to be held from April 30, 2016 until May 8, 2016. However, the event will be extended until May 9, 2016, to accommodate the public's high enthusiasm.
