TEMPO.CO, Cilegon-Banten Regional Police is deploying 1,000 of its personnel to anticipate congestion during the long holiday on May 5-8 2016. “We guarantee that traffic flows will go smooth, although it will be quite crowded,” Banten Police Department Chief Brigadier General Ahmad Dofiri said in Cilegon, Banten, on Thursday, May 5, 2016.
Police officers will be deployed in crowded areas, tourist sites, and several critical points of traffic congestion. “We’re focusing on the vehicle flow to go smoothly, including at Merak Port,” Dofiri said.
Banten Regional Police has also coordinated with SDP Merak to prevent passenger pile-ups at Merak Port.
Meanwhile, traffic flows from Tangerang toll road toward Merak Port is reported to be smooth despite a surge in vehicle volume.
