TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-Airline company PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk has arranged 22,000 extra seats to accommodate the surge of passengers during the 2016 Eid’s holiday.
"We’ve prepared 22,000 extra seats for Garuda and 30,000-40,000 extra seats for Citilink," Garuda President Director Arif Wibowo after attending a meeting on the Preparation of State-Owned Transportation Companies in expecting the 1437 H Eid's holiday at the SOEs Ministry’s office in Jakarta on Monday, May 2, 2016.
Arif predicted the surge of Garuda’s passengers will be up by 3 percent during the 2016 Eid’s holiday; increasing from around 4 million passengers compared to the Eid’s holiday in 2015.
He said the extra seats will be added to the flights with the route of Jakarta heading to several cities such as Surabaya, Padang, Denpasar, Jogyakarta, Balikpapan, Surabaya, and Semarang.
Whereas, the extra seats for the International route will be available for Singapura, Kuala Lumpur, and Bangkok destinations.
Currently, Arif said, Garuda's load factor reaches 76 percent and will be on its peak on 2016 Eid’s holiday.
