TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Basuku "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama extends his gratitude to public officials who decided to resign from their position.
"Yes, I am grateful and thankful. I have told them from the beginning, I will make a line, those who wanted to see a new Jakarta, stay on the left side [of the line] and those who don’t stay on the right," Ahok said at the City Hall on Monday, May 2, 2016.
Ahok said that with so many public officials resigning, 'honest' public officials will have better chances at getting promotions. "Because there are many 'honest' public officials, not just the young ones," Ahok said.
Recently, North Jakarta Mayor Rustam Effendy sent a resignation letter to the Jakarta Governor and was received by the Chief of Jakarta Regional Apparatus Agency Agus Suradika on Monday, April 25, 2016. "I did not ask why he resigned, it was not mentioned in the [resignation] letter," Ahok said.
