TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded that at least 892,200 foreign tourists had visited Indonesia on March 2016.
The number is 7.88 percent higher compared to the 827,100 visits recorded on same period last year. The number is also higher compared to foreign tourist visits in February 2016.
Out of the total 892,200 foreign tourists visiting Indonesia, 15 percent of them are Singaporeans, while the rests came from Malaysia (13.77 percent), China (11.45 percent), Australia (10.33 percent) and Japan (5.02 percent).
Meanwhile, the total number of foreign tourist visits starting from January 2016 to March 2016 had reached 2.54 million, or 4.66 percent higher compares to the same period in 2015.
Similarly, hotel occupancy rate also increased. On march 2016, BPS recorded that hotel occupancy rate in 26 provinces in Indonesia had reached 49.13 percent.
