TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Embassy in Dakar Senegal, presented a number of cultural products and promoted Indonesia’s tourist destinations at the World Cultural Month in Dakar, Senegal.
In an event hosted by the International School of Dakar (ISD), Indonesian Embassy in Dakar exhibited various Indonesian handicraft products such as tenun and batik, distributed tourism pamphlets and presented videos about Indonesia’s tourism, as well as served Indonesian traditional food such as fried rice, satay and es teler.
Indonesia’s stand at the event also presented gamelan music and gave opportunities for the visitors to play the Indonesian musical instrument.
At the event, Indonesian citizens who live in Dakar also wore traditional attires and joined the parade of traditional clothes.
In the meantime, Indonesian Ambassador for Senegal Mansyur Pangeran said that the World Cultural Month was attended by thousands of visitors and an event to exhibit Indonesian cultures to the people in Senegal and expatriates in Dakar.
Indonesian Embassy in Dakkar, which has taken part four times at the event since 2013, this time received the award as the best and most favorite stand.
Mansyur hopes that the event can attract Senegal people and other international community to come to Indonesia.
