Business Player Obliged to Take Part in Economic Census: Minister

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for the Economic Affairs, Darmin Nasution, said all business players are obliged to take part in the decennial 2016 economic census held by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS).
According to the ministers, refusing to take part in the census means violating the law.
Darmin also said that the census has nothing to do with taxes and individual data obtained by the BPS would not be disclosed to the Taxes Directorate General.
For the record, in May this year, the government the 2016 economic census, which involves around 300,000 BPS officials and will be held for 30 days.
BPS Head Suryamin said that thousands of millions business players will be involved in the census.
He also said that the data from the census would describe the potentials of Indonesia’s economy.
In the meantime, President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo also asked business players to be cooperative in taking part in the census so that the BPS can get accurate data.
