TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Commission VIII overseeing religion and social affairs of the House of Representatives (DPR) announced that hajj pilgrimage travel payment (BPIH) in 2016 would be cut.
Previously, in US Dollar, the hajj fee reached US$ 2,717 or equals to Rp35.75 million.
“Now it has been cut into US$ 2,528 or equals to Rp. 34,641,304 for this year,” said Deputy Chairman of Commission VIII Sodik Mudjahid on Saturday (30/4).
Solid added depute the cut in the payment, budget for a number of main components of the pilgrimage that are directly felt by the pilgrims have been raised instead in order to improve the quality of the services.
Those components include meals in Mecca, from 15 times into 24 times, upgrading buses, and other services.
